* Gauguin and Polynesia at SAM
Gauguin and Polynesia at SAM
Paul Gauguin (1848–1903) is one of the true larger-than-life figures in art history. The key feature in his personal mythology is the constant yearning for an exotic paradise; he sought it in the bohemian arts community at Pont-Aven on the coast of Brittany and later on the South Seas island of Tahiti. When that outpost of French colonialism began to feel too constraining, Gauguin moved to a still more remote location, the Marquesas Islands, where he died in 1903. His fascination with local cultures resulted in a kind of personal, syncretic iconography throughout his career.

I want to take my two daughters (19 & 31 – not children) on a two night stay in Victoria. When looking at the rates, they quote the price for double occupancy. What happens if you have three in the room? Is the price the same / person, or is it reduced.

  9. admin’s avatar

Hi, there is typically an additional fee if you are adding more people to the room. To find out exactly what it will be based on your plans you should speak to one of our reservation specialist, by calling 1-800-888-2535.

We don’t sell this as a stand alone product, it is an add on item to our Vancouver packages. We sell a day trip from Vancouver to Victoria through West Coast Sightseeing that includes the Butchart Gardens and time in Victoria. You could contact West Coast Sightseeing and book that directly with them. here is the link: http://www.vancouversightseeing.com/

We would like to take the Seattle to Vancouver trip, but it’s pasanger only. Do we need to rent a car once there to see the B.Garden lights? or to get to the hotel, etc?

  17. admin’s avatar

    Hi Michelle,

The easiest way to get to Butchart Gardens is by booking a tour that includes admission and a bus tour from Victoria like this one: http://www.clippervacations.com/victoria/tours/clippercombo or this one http://www.clippervacations.com/victoria/tours/butchart_gardens_tour

If you have not experienced it before, you can also book a complete tour from Victoria to Butchart Gardens that also includes afternoon tea at the Gardens: http://www.clippervacations.com/victoria/tours/clippercombo

Victoria is a highly walkable city and does not require a car to get around. There are many hotels that are close by the Victoria Clipper terminal that you can either walk to or take a quick cab ride to in order to drop off your luggage. If you select the Clipper Butchart Gardens Combo Tour, it will drop you off at your hotel at the end along with your luggage.

    Happy Travels!
