Summer Fun: Woodinville’s Moonlight Cinema Series

The Moonlight Cinema Series is a favorite summer time event in Seattle. The Moonlight Series is a great way to gather friends and family to enjoy a movie outdoors in the grassy amphitheater, otherwise known as, The Bowl, while enjoying some great tasting specialty brews. This is one Seattle summertime event that I have sadly not been able to experience, but I have made a note to meet up with some friends in the next few Thursdays before the last movie plays on August 26th.

The Redhook Ale Brewery, located a few miles outside of Seattle in the city of Woodinville, hosts the Moonlight Cinema Series. The six movie series plays a movie at the Redhook Bowl every Thursday from the middle of July until August. The movie starts at dusk, but in order to get the best seats, be sure to come early when the doors open at 6:00 P.M. Seating is a first come first serves basis, so I would recommend that you get to The Bowl as early as possible. There is a $5 dollar admission and for those who are 21 and over be sure to have your I.D. ready to receive your 21+ bracelet so that you can take enjoy the Beer Garden and beer service.

For those who are 21+ have fun in the Beer Garden, which also opens at 6:00 P.M. while you wait for the movie to start at dusk. Be sure to grab your glass before the movie starts, as the drink service does stop once the movie begins. The Series offers Redhook’s Draft Ales for $4 and either Chardonnay or Cabernet for $6 a glass. If you want something to eat, either grab something off the BBQ menu on site or you can always pop into the nearby Forecaster’s Pub for some to-go food.

If the Beer Garden is not something that suits your age or interest, bring a Frisbee or soccer ball to throw around while you wait on the grassy fields, or you can just lay out in the sun to relax as you wait for you dusk to fall and the movie to start.
